OVERVIEW

The Youth Career Readiness Coach will help middle and high school students explore careers in manufacturing through the facilitation of manufacturing related work-based learning experiences and related coaching.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Facilitate and organize work-based learning activities with partner schools/organizations including facilitating career coaching curriculum and preparing students for plant tours and job shadows
  2. Design lessons, prepare training materials, and administer presentations for youth
  3. Recruit program participants by working with partners
  4. Plan and execute a middle school Summer Camp focused on manufacturing career exploration
  5. Collaborate with school administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, and community partners to further develop and implement work-based learning activities
  6. Submit timely reports in accordance with Manufacturing Works and grant requirements
  7. Engage Manufacturing Works members and affiliates with work-based learning activities
  8. Highlight various aspects of youth programs through Manufacturing Works social media channels
  9. All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required or 5+ years related experience

Experience:

  • 2+ years experience working with urban youth, parents and other partners (required)
  • 1+ years experience with job placement and career coaching (preferred)
  • 1+ years experience in a manufacturing or trade related environment (preferred)

  • Ability to lead and follow as needed and focuses on continuous improvement for self and the organization
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with a variety of internal and external partners and values them as a part of the Manufacturing Works community
  • Must have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, including both verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work effectively with youth, educators, and partners
  • Proficiency with MSOffice and social media software applications

Other:

  • Position based at Manufacturing Works' administrative offices with most work taking place at partner locations such as Max S. Hayes High School and Boys and Girls Clubs Cleveland locations
  • Reliable transportation required
